2008 Great Legs Syrah

Tasting Notes:

Crushed rose petals and floral tones become more complex and almost meaty in the pallet. A hint of bacon fat is offset by blueberry jam preserves. Rosemary and cedar tones round out a pleasing dry tannic finish.

2008 Great Legs Cabernet Sauvignon

Tasting Notes:

Blackberries and a hint of cigar box waft through the nose of this elegant wine. The mouth feel is reminiscent of savory butterscotch with an element of dried tobacco leaves. Approachable and mellow, a soft finish of plum and vanilla round out the finish.

2008 Great Legs Cabernet Franc

Tasting Notes:

Initial aromatics of fruit, cranberry and bing cherry prevail in this wine and open up into warm, balanced cedar notes in the palate. Caramel and sweet vanilla fruits combine with sage and rosemary in a lingering, pleasant finish.

2008 Robinson Family Vineyards Merlot,

Tasting Notes:

Big sweet fruits almost overwhelm the aromatics of this offering. A deep clove and cherry component in the pallet brings complexity with a refined lavender and dried rose petal finish.

2008 Robinson Family Vineyards Cabernet Franc, Stags Leap District

Tasting Notes:

Warm aromatics of walnut and black currants. A dark caramel and sweet vanilla character pervades the mouth feel of the wine, enhanced by a rich structure and hints of oak.

2008 Robinson Family Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon, Stags Leap District

Tasting Notes:

A rich, fruity nose with hints of lavender. Pleasing resins feel with hues of fresh cola and strawberry seed flavors. Well balanced vanilla and tannins in a mouthwatering finish.

2008 Robinson Family Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, Stags Leap District

Tasting Notes:

Where to start? Perhaps with fresh jasmine and rose aromas highlighted by sweet cedar and redwood. A lightly roasted marshmallow element with dark raspberry and ripe plum skin components. Smooth tones of butterscotch and caramel, accented by raspberry, round out this deep and complex offering.

2005 GREAT LEGS RED WINE
COOMBSVILLE VINEYARD

Tasting Notes:

The grapes for this Bordeaux style blend come from the Robinson Family Vineyards located in southern Napa. Being in the cooler, southeast end of the valley means that the harvest of this fruit occurs several weeks later than up valley fruit. The cooler temperatures also help provide the true fruit characteristics of this wine. Each of the vineyard blocks used were sampled and harvested separately to maximize fruit ripeness. Once in the winery each block was individually fermented in small stainless steel tanks. Fermentation temperatures were kept in the mid eighties to help maximize the fruit in the finished wine. Color is deep garnet red to purple, almost black. A mouth filling wine showing flavors of cola with minerals and spices. Layered with blueberries and plums, there is a rich current of vanilla and creamy notes, all with a well balanced acidity. There are soft, well integrated tannins on the finish.

2006 CABERNET SAUVIGNON

Tasting Notes:

This is a rich full bodied, well balanced wine with flavors of cassis, blackberries and cherries. Those combine nicely with the barrel influenced flavors of spices, cream and vanilla. Robust but well integrated tannins emerge to create a wonderful drawn out finish.

Tasting Notes:

This is a smooth, rich, wonderfully well balanced wine. The focus is on the fruit components of cherries and blackberries, there are layers of other flavors that include the creamy oak with hints of tobacco leaf, coriander and sage. There are fine dusty tannins incorporated to provide a long satisfying finish. This wine is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon created from an individual barrel selection of our favorite vineyard blocks.

Tasting Notes:

This is a rich full bodied wine with great weight and textures from the start through the finish. Flavors of blueberries and cream mingle with darker notes of spices and cedar.

2007 CABERNET FRANC

Tasting Notes:

This is an “in house” favorite! A rich, full bodied wine with a great sense of balance. The barrel influenced components of tobacco and cedar/oak show in the mouth and add a wonderful addition to the core fruit flavors of strawberry, blueberry and blackberries. The tannins from both the fruit and the barrels are big but well integrated to provide a smooth, rich lingering finish.

2007 MALBEC

Tasting Notes:

This is a rich full bodied wine with a wonderful mouthfeel and sense of balance. Flavors of blueberries are combined with those of sage and a nice oak component. The tannins from both the fruit and the barrels are well integrated to provide a smooth, rich lingering finish. This wine is primarily malbec with a little bit of merlot incorporated into the blend for added richness.

This is a beautiful medium to full bodied wine that has a nice balance of dark rich fruit flavors combined with those of cedar, vanilla cream and spices. There are rich tannins to provide a lingering finish.
